The HyperRoll Data Performance Management Suite™ features three components: the HyperRoll Data Performance Management Server™, the HyperRoll Administrator Console and the HyperRoll Workbench. Each offers capabilities unique in the industry; together they provide a comprehensive solution to improve the performance of data warehouses. Here’s a look at each.
HyperRoll DPM Server™
The HyperRoll DPM Server™ is the foundation of the HyperRoll Data Performance Management Suite™. The HyperRoll DPM Server simultaneously addresses key challenges for data warehouses: load time, query time, throughput, change agility, reliability and cost of ownership. Its innovative architecture integrates transparently into existing data warehouse databases yet provides all support for aggregate queries. It integrates smoothly with business intelligence (BI) platforms and supports ODBC, JDBC and other relational database interface standards. The HyperRoll Server increases user satisfaction because it ensures strikingly better query performance for any and all reports and queries while remaining entirely transparent to the user.
The DPM Server uses the following capabilities to deliver outstanding performance and business improvement:
High Performance – Load and query performance is dramatically improved using a combination of tightly coupled query processing and data management, 64-bit memory use, and optimized caching and compression. The patented server uses on-the-fly processing to overcome load and consistency problems found with static summary tables and indexes. HyperRoll has been tested and proven against terabyte-size data warehouses.
Adaptable – Data warehouse change agility is improved in several ways. HyperRoll supports on-the-fly changes to metadata including Type 1 and Type 2 moving dimensions. Product SKUs and other hierarchy elements can be reclassified without reloading or recalculating. ETL scripts are simplified because aggregate tables, indexes, cubes and data marts no longer need to be part of the data warehouse load process. HyperRoll also accepts load data from multiple, different data sources. Data loads can be done with or without an ETL server.
Transparent – HyperRoll is an open system that integrates with and augments the entire enterprise portfolio of data warehouses and data marts. It integrates with all leading hardware, RDBMSs and BI platforms. It embeds easily in existing management frameworks for security, backup and monitoring. It uses less hardware and fewer administrative resources than traditional solutions. In short, HyperRoll drives better performance for less money and preserves and enhances existing investments in data warehouse infrastructure. It installs and configures quickly; pilot deployments typically are completed in four to 10 days.
HyperRoll Administrator Console
The HyperRoll Administrator Console monitors and manages the performance of your data and users. Baseline performance statistics of your HyperRoll deployment are presented in easy to ready graphics. Administrators identify which data and system resources are most used, so that resources can be focused for maximum efficiency. Administrative tasks can be recorded as macros and replayed ad-hoc or on a scheduled basis. Multiple HyperRoll instances across heterogeneous databases and BI systems can all be managed from one tool.
HyperRoll Workbench
The HyperRoll Workbench enables administrators to configure HyperRoll data structures. Workbench streamlines the data management process; it automatically imports database schemas and allows administrators to customize the data structure and add analytic functions.
